hello dolly
oooh what a wonderful day. I had my meeting with off campus ops today, and man oh man are my chances lookin good to go to CCA next semester!!! ooooh yeahhhhh. SUPER STOKED!! Therefore, the rest of the day had a beautiful undertone to it. Then I went to jazz class and we talked about Louis Armstrong. I now think I'm as in love him as the rest of the world. I also learned an interesting fact about New Orleans jazz musicians in the early 1900's. Rumor has it that the style was to wear your red flannel long underware underneath all your other clothes, the collar would therefore poke out around your neckline, and out of the bottom of your pant legs. Talk about amazing for lack of a better word. I've been searching for a picture of it but I have yet to find an equally amazing picture. But here are a few of the legand himself.

I highly recommend listening to the 1926 version of "The Stampede" by Fletcher Henderson's Orchestra. That was the band Armstong joined shortly after being in King Olivers Creole Band in Chicago, when and where his career begain at the ripe old age of 18( he was actually 17 but lyed to get out of New Orleans) ANYWAYS. If you want to know anything about Louis Armstrong, you should learn West End Blues. This song changed not only the world of jazz, but probably every musician ever. I know right?! Believe it.
